                                                               ABSTRAKSI 
                                                                        
                                Dalam rangka meningkatkan kesuksesan suatu perusahaan dalam berbisnis, 
                          maka dibutuhkan suatu strategi  yang  tepat,  yakni  dengan  melakukan  berbagai 
                          upaya perbaikan terus-menerus demi mencapai kualitas produk yang diinginkan. 
                          Hal  tersebut  dikarenakan,  kualitas  merupakan  salah  satu  kunci  utama  dalam 
                          berbisnis, karena kualitas akan berpengaruh terhadap loyalitas dan penjualan yang 
                          terjadi pada perusahaan. Hal tersebut yang kemudian menjadi pertimbangan PT. 
                          United  Waru  Biscuit  Manufactory  (PT.UBM)  dalam  rangka  meningkatkan 
                          kualitas produk dan demi mencapai suatu zero defect product. Perusahaan yang 
                          bergerak di bidang makanan ini berusaha melakukan berbagai upaya perbaikan 
                          terus-menerus demi mencapai suatu kualitas produk yang maksimal. Salah satu 
                          metode yang digunakan demi mencapai zero defect product adalah poka yoke.  
                                Poka  yoke  merupakan  salah  satu  metode  yang  berfungsi  mencegah, 
                          mereduksi atau mengeleminasi defect yang terjadi dengan cara mengidentifikasi 
                          dan  menghilangkah  penyebab  khusus  yang  terjadi  sejak  awal  proses  produksi 
                          tersebut  dilakukan.  Berdasarkan  hasil  penelitian  yang  dilakukan  dengan 
                          menggunakan  metode  poka  yoke,  maka  didapatkan  suatu  kenyataan  bahwa 
                          produk yang memiliki jumlah defect tertinggi pada PT.UBM terletak pada jenis 
                          produk Square Puff. Hal tersebut dikarenakan oleh kurangnya pengawasan dan 
                          kontrol yang dilakukan oleh petugas dalam mengawasi proses yang terjadi pada 
                          proses produksi. Adapun proses perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan oleh PT. UBM 
                          adalah dengan cara memberikan warning alarm, pengendalian sistem informasi, 
                          pemberian  celemek  bernama  pada  seragam  perusahaan,  training  kepada  para 
                          leader,  dan  hal-hal  lain  yang  berkaitan  dengan  pengawasan  dan  pengendalian 
                          yang dilakukan dalam proses produksi. Diharapkan dengan diberlakukanya sistem 
                          perbaikan yang ada proses produksi, perusahaan dapat bekerja lebih efektif dan 
                          efisien  dan  defect  yang  dihasilkanpun  dapat  berkurang  jumlahnya,  sehingga 
                          kualitas produk akan meningkat.

                                                                 Abstract 
                                  In order to increase the company succession in the business, it needs a 
                          proper strategy, such as to perform a variety of continuous improvement efforts in 
                          order to achieve the desired product quality. That is because, the quality is one of 
                          the main key in business, because it will affect the quality of loyalty and sales that 
                          occur  in  the  company.  It  is  then  a  consideration  of  PT.  United  Waru  Biscuit 
                          Manufactory (PT.UBM) in order to improve product quality and to achieve a zero 
                          defect product. Company engaged in the food business is trying to do a variety of 
                          continuous improvement in order to achieve a maximum quality product. One 
                          method that used to achieve zero defect product is poka yoke.  
                                  Poka yoke is one method that works to prevent, reduce or eliminate defects 
                          that occur by identifying and eliminating specific causes since the beginning of 
                          the production process. Based on the results of research conducted using poka 
                          yoke, so they found the fact that a PT.UBM product that has the highest number of 
                          defect  lies  in  the  type  of  products  UBM  Square  Puff.  This  is  due  to  lack  of 
                          supervision and control carried out by officers in overseeing the process that 
                          occurs in the production process. The process improvements that can be made by 
                          PT.UBM is by giving a warning alarm, control system information, giving an 
                          apron called the uniform company, training for leaders, and other matters related 
                          to  the  supervision and control are carried out in the production process. It is 
                          expected that with the implementation of improvements of existing systems, the 
                          company's production process can work more effectively and efficiently with a 
                          defect that occur can be reduced in number, so that the quality of the product will 
                          increase.
