         1. How did Darwin’s observation of finches in the Galapagos islands provide evidence for the 
            process of evolution? Darwin noticed that the finches found on different islands were 
            similar enough to be closely related, but they had differences in beak and claw structure. 
            The different types of finch were found on islands with different types of food available, 
            so Darwin thought that they had evolved to be able to eat the food available on their own 
            islands.
