                     Foreword
                     This Human Resource Manual is provided by Human Resources Directorate in collaboration
                     with the office of DVC-FA to acquaint you with Kampala International University in Tanzania
                     (KIUT) policies, procedures and rules that apply to you as a KIUT employee.
                     This Human Resource Manual is not a contract and the information contained herein is not
                     to be considered contractual promises. The information is subject to the legal documents
                     that pertain to each benefit plan and the appropriate policies, procedures, contracts and
                     collective  bargaining  agreements.  This manual can  be  changed or amended by Human
                     Resources Directorate in  collaboration  with  the  office  of  DVC-FA any  time by  following
                     appropriate  procedures. Human Resources Directorate will make every effort to inform
                     employees of changes in a timely manner. In cases of conflict, between this manual and the
                     laws and policies of the country   the latter will prevail.
                     This Human Resource Manual is applicable to both academic and non-academic staff. It is
                     effective on the date of publication and supersedes all previous Human Resources manuals
                     and policies. .
                     In cases of conflict between the terms contained in this manual and the  appointment or
                     individual contract, the terms of the appointment or contract will prevail.
                      Generally, this Human Resource Manual contains summaries and general overviews; it is
                     not all-inclusive. The Human Resources Directorate in collaboration with the office of DVC-
                     FA is available to help you with any questions about the content of the manual and other
                     related matters
