   Purpose of modalities in physiotherapy
  The key purpose of modalities in 
  physiotherapy is to improve the 
  person’s physical and psychological 
  wellbeing through the use of 
  therapeutic methods which may help 
  to:
  1) reduce pain or discomfort.
  2) improve physical function and the 
   person’s ability to complete 
   activities of daily living and 
   participate in life roles.
  3) facilitate independence.
  4) help the person adapt or adjust to 
   the effects of an injury or health 
   and/or disability condition so that 
   they can have maximum wellbeing 
   and achieve their goals.
