Constitution of Council
         No. Leg. 6/2020.— The following Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana received
         the assent of the Governor of Haryana on the 25th March, 2020 and is hereby published for
                       general information:-
                                        HARYANA ACT NO. 6 OF 2020
           THE HARYANA STATE COUNCIL FOR PHYSIOTHERAPY ACT, 2020
                           AN
                          ACT
          to provide for the constitution of the Haryana State Council for Physiotherapy for the
         purpose of registration of Physiotherapists in the State and for the recognition of institutions
         imparting training in the field of Physiotherapy and for co-ordination and determination of
     standards of education in the field of Physiotherapy and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. 
                 Council Members
  As per section 4, of Haryana State Council for Physiotherapy Act, 2020. 
  1. The Government shall by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute a body to be known as the Haryana State Council 
  for Physiotherapy to exercise the powers conferred on and to perform function assigned to it under this Act consisting of 
  following members.
  a. Director, Medical Education and Research Department shall be the President.
  b. Deputy Director, dealing with the subject of Physiotherapy in Medical Education and Research Department shall be the 
  Vice President.
  c. One Physiotherapist amongst the teaching faculty from each of the Government teaching institutions in the State, to be 
  nominated by the Government.
  d. Three Physiotherapists amongst the teaching faculty in the Government Aided or private institutions in the State, to be 
  nominated by the Government.
  e. Two members elected in the election conducted by the Council from amongst the registered practitioners.
  f. One member from Haryana Medical Council to be nominated by the Government.
  2. The Registrar of the Council shall be the Member – Secretary.
                                                  Functions Of Council
    The function of the Council shall be-:
    1.  To Co-ordinate and determine the standards of Physiotherapy.
    2.  To regulate the practice of the profession by persons possessing   recognized Physiotherapy qualification. Council 
        also undertake inspections of B.P.T and M.P.T Institutes in the State of Haryana.
    3.  Main work of the Council is to issue Registration certificates for B.P.T and M.P.T passed outs and to maintain the 
        Registers of Physiotherapists for Haryana.
    4.  To advice the Government in matters relating to the requirements of manpower in the field of Physiotherapy.
    5.  To assist the Government in regard to continuing education of registered Physiotherapists.

   •As provided in clause no. 21  of the Act, all the participants have been informed that 
   Affiliation of all the Institutions running in Haryana is mandatory by the State Council 
   either  irrespective of the existing Affiliation with the University or  Otherwise.
