A properly structured syllabus shall go a long way in helping you prepare well for your UGC NET 2020
examination. Knowing the comprehensive and latest syllabus well will help you decide which are the im-
portant topics which you should be focusing on first. It helps you prepare a strategy to complete the en-
tire syllabus in time before the exam. The UGC NET examination is subdivided into 2 phases, Paper-I
i.e. General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude and Paper-II which is a specific examination for
81 different subjects. Knowing the syllabus for both Paper I & Paper II is important to clear the UGC
NET 2020 Examination. Here in this article, we have mentioned the entire syllabus for your reference.

UGC NET Paper-I Syllabus
The UGC NET exam paper shall consist of two sessions Paper-I and Paper-II. The paper-I of UGC NET
shall be a general paper based on teaching and aptitude regarding research. It shall consist of 50 Objec-
tive Type questions. The paper 2 of UGC NET shall comprise of specialization or any particular subject
selected by the candidate. It shall also consist of 100 questions of objective type. There shall be a total
of 84 specialization subjects for the UGC NET paper 2.
UGC NET Paper-I ( A General Paper on the Teaching & Research Aptitude) is actually quite common
