General Instructions for Entries into Spreadsheet













Entry 1:
Enter live weight cost per pound. Either the cost to buy a market ready animal or the cost to raise an animal to maturity











Entry 2:
Enter live weight of animal or use an average of the typical live weights experienced on your farm.











Entry 3:
Default Dressing Percentage is industry standard. You may modify if your animals are significantly different.











Entry 4:
Default Cutout Percentage is industry standard. You may modify this percent based on your processor's yields.











Entry 5:
Default Boneout Percentage is industry standard. You may modify this percentage based on your processor's yields.











Entry 6:
Enter Kill Fee (if applicable) that your processor charges.











Entry 7:
Enter Processing Fee on a per hanging weight basis.











Entries 8 - 12:
Enter Selling Costs for Direct Marketing Beef on a PER ANIMAL basis.











Entries 13 - 19:
Enter Estimated Overhead Costs for Raising and Selling Your Animals on a PER ANIMAL basis.











Entry 20:
A drop down item whether you want standard cut or all boneless. Default is standard. Select NO for standard if you wan all boneless











Entries 21 - 25:
Enter USDA average retail prices from https://www.ers.usda.gov/data-products/meat-price-spreads/











Entry 26:
Enter estimated shrink in a percentage to account for unsaleable cuts and samples provided to customers











Entries 27 - 31:
Enter retail prices that you expect to charge for your beef cuts











Entry 32:
Enter any additional income not accounted for in the other fields











Entry 33:
Enter any additional expense not accounted for in the other fields
