    TRZM 101 Introduction to Tourism 
    Tourism history and introductory principles as: Tourism in perspective; cultural tourism; sociology of 
    tourism; tourism psychology and motivation as to the different features of the total tourism product. Total 
    tourism product such as accommodation units, leisure and recreation facilities; transportation, travel, cultural 
    activities, supporting services as insurance, banking etc. Planning, development and economics of tourism. 
    Cases on tourism practices and philosophies as to past, present & future. 
    ENGL 101- Academic English I 
    Academic English I course covers the following topics: Development of writing and speaking skills; 
    Improvement of Reading skills; English language structures; Lexis; Improvement of Report Connecting 
    critical thinking with language skills; Incorporating technologies to improve English learning; Introduction 
    to  model  reporting;  Finding  and  searching  information  sources;  References;  Proposal  and  outline; 
    Introduction and report layout; Oral presentation input; Abstract and conclusion. 
    BUSN101 INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS I 
    Introduction to Business I course has the following course content: Dynamics of business economics; 
    Business ethics and social responsibility; Specify how businesses can promote ethical behavior; Business in 
    a borderless world; Explore some of the factors within the international trade environment that influence 
    business; Options for organizing business; Small business, Describing how to start a small business and what 
    resources are required; Entrepreneurship and franchising; Nature of management; Organization, Teamwork 
    and Communication; Managing service and manufacturing operations. 
    ITEC 101 INTRODUCTION TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY I 
    Introduction to Information Technology I covers the following topics: Introduction to Word; Document 
    presentation; Document productivity; Desktop publishing and graphic design; Creating and formatting a 
    table; Time saving tools; Document automation; Introduction to PowerPoint; Presentation development; 
    Presentation  design;  Collaboration  and  distribution;  Running  and  navigating  a  custom  slide  show; 
    Designating and displaying hidden slides; Introduction to Excel; Managing worksheets; Formulas and

    ECON 101 MICROECONOMICS 
    Microeconomics course the following main topics: Economy and economic systems; How people make

    TRZM 104 Recreation and Leisure Management 
    Introduction to fundamentals of recreation and leisure. Modern, post-industrial society and importance of 
    leisure. Private and public recreation. Programming recreational activities. Leadership in recreation. 
    ENGL102 ACADEMIC ENGLISH II

    references in formulas; Using date functions; Using logical, IF, lookup, and financial functions; Datasets and

    Access; Relational databases and queries; Creating and using professional forms and reports; Data validation 
    techniques; Advanced queries. 
    MATH 106 (MATH103) MATHEMATICS FOR SOCIAL SCIENCES  
    Mathematics for Social Sciences course has the following course content: First degree-equations in one 
    variable; Second degree-equations in one variable; Inequalities; Slope-intercept form; Systems of linear 
    equations;  Two-variable systems of linear equations, Functions; Graphical representation of functions. 
    Linear functions and applications; Linear cost, revenue, profit; Demand and supply functions; Break-even 
    models. Quadratic functions and their characteristics; Polynomial functions. Exponential and logarithmic 
    functions and their characteristics. 
    TRZM201  BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES IN TOURISM 
    This module aims to introduce the students to the basic concepts of behavioral science as they relate to the 
    Tourism & Hospitality Industry. With this course students will be able to outline the effects of social 
    interactions on behavior with reference to the tourism and service industries, Describe and compare, content 
    and process theories of motivation and examine the significance of motivation in the tourism decision 
    making process, assess the role of psychology in customer care within the tourism and hospitality industry, 
    and explain the concepts of socialization, society and culture and how they impact on workplace behavior 
    and tourism. 
    TRZM 211 Food and Beverage Services 
    Explanation and analysis of the internal workings of a food service management in business, industry and 
    health related facilities. Presentation and analysis of food service organization structures, job descriptions, 
    internal controls, internal system design, specialty food service equipment considerations. Analysis of the 
    factors in the context of areas such as hotels, airline catering, other transport catering, educational institutions 
    and contract food service management. Field visits to above mentioned types of operations. Preparation of 
    term papers on different types of operations. 
    STAT201  STATISTICS I 
    The authors show students how to recognize and understand each business question, use statistical tools to 
    do the analysis, and how to communicate their results clearly and concisely. In addition to providing cases 
    and real data to demonstrate real business situations, this text provides resources to support understanding 
    and engagement. A successful problem-solving framework in the 4-M Examples (Motivation, Method, 
    Mechanics, Message) model a clear outline for solving problems. 
    ACCT201 PRINCIPLES OF ACCOUNTING I 
     
     
    Principles  of  Accounting  I  course  covers  the  following  main  topics:  Accounting  and  the  Business 
    Environment; Financial and Management accounting; The elements of the accounting equation; Analyze 
    business transactions; Rules of debit and credit; Ledger accounts after posting; Prepare and use a trial 
    balance; Basic Financial Statements; Recording Business Transactions; Accruals and Deferrals; adjusting 
    entries; Adjusting entries and accounting principles; Reporting Financial Results; Closing the temporary 
    equity accounts; Merchandising Activities. 
    TRZM 202 International Cuisines 
    Basic  food  and  beverage  preparation  and  production  techniques  used  in  professional  operations. 
    Characteristics  of  various  well  known  international  cuisines.  The  terminology  of  food  production, 
    professional kitchen equipment; new technologies for food production. Laboratory sessions and field trips. 
    TRZM 204 Human Resources Management 
    Subjects covered in the course include; General Principles of Human Resources Management (HRM), HR 
    Planning In The Organizations, Job Analysis, Job Design, Methods of Employee Selection, Personnel 
    Orientation,  Training  and  Development,  Organizational  Socialization  and  Career  Management,  Job 
    Evaluation, Involved Concepts and Methods, Performance Appraisal and Systems, Base Wage and Salary 
    Systems 
    TRZM 212 Travel Geography 
    Physical features of continents, natural resources, mountains, rivers and lakes. Main capital cities. Principal 
    tourists’ attractions: places, regions and localities at certain destinations. Air, land and sea transportation 
    modes. Planning and preparation of itineraries, time differences, the international date line, total travel time. 
    Important local currencies, maps for practical training. 
    FINA212 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT 
    Financial Management course covers the following main topics: Introduction to financial management; 
    Financial statements; Taxes and cash flow; Working with financial statements; Common size Analysis; Ratio 
    Analysis;  Sustainable  and  internal  growth  rates;  Time  value  of  money;  Present  Value;  Future  Value;

    TRZM381  SERVICE QUALITY MANAGEMENT 
    A general view of quality, dimensions of service quality, diagnosing service quality failures, measurement 
    of customer satisfaction with services, cost of quality, planning for and managing service quality. 
    TRZM 321 Travel Agency and Tour Operating 
    Roles and responsibilities of travel intermediaries, business plan of travel and tour agencies, marketing and 
    travel  sales  distribution  channels,  operations  and  service  quality  for  travel  intermediaries,  impacts 
    information technology on tourism industry, and sustainable competitiveness for tourism businesses. 
    TRZM 361 Information Systems for Hotel Industry 
    Functions of computer reservation systems, hotel automation, front office procedures, room categories, 
    check in – check out procedures, realizing reservations, payment conditions and reservation cancellations, 
    room management, rate management and hotel accounts. 
    BUSN304 HUMAN RESOURCE MANGEMENT 
     
     
    Basic  objectives  and  concepts  in  human  resource  management.  Fundamental  functions  of  personnel 
    management, such as human resource planning, job analysis, recruitment, selection, orientation, training and 
    development, and personnel relations. Emerging trends in human resource management. 
    BUSN306 PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT 
    The Production/Operations function in business. The evaluation and growth of production and operations 
    management (POM). POM problems. Productivity and its measurement. Forecasting demand. Qualitative 
    and quantitative forecasting techniques. Inventory control. Single and multiple period inventories. Problems 
    and cases. 
    TRZM 322 Travel Industry 
    The formation of the idea of travel as an inseparable feature of modern human beings. Mobility theory; cities 
    as spaces of tourism; historical development of transportation systems; mutual constitution of transportation, 
    travel and tourism; social, cultural and economic impacts of transportation systems and hubs. Evolution and 
    current workings of the travel industry; employees of travel industry; effect of technology on travel industry; 
    current operational structure and practices; future prospects. 
    BUSN401 MARKETING 
    Consumer  behavior.  Market  segmentation.  Product  development  and  policies,  methods  and  practices.

    This module will provide students with an introduction to food production and agricultural systems through 
    a range of topics selected from the following areas:  definitions; an overview of the policy framework; the 
    dynamics of food supply chains in relation to external policy and regulation;  the influence of science and 
    technology;  supply chain relationships;  primary food production and agricultural industries;  international 
    perspectives on resource use;  population dynamics;  food supply, food security and quality;  drivers for agri-
    food change;  future prospects. 
    TRZM423 Current Issues in Tourism 
    A wide range of topics on different types and modes of travel and related travel organization systems such 
    as adventure travel, special airport services, domestic tourism, interest travel, student and youth travel as 
    well as corporate travel market; congress organizations; cruise market operation; group travel as well as 
    procedures by submission and analyses of cases by specialists of the respected fields. 
    TRZM400  INTERNSHIP 
    An internship in tourism is an essential part of a well-rounded understanding of the hospitality industry. With 
    global travel  on  the  rise,  a  tourism  internship  will  give  students  an  understanding  of  how  to  cater  to 
    international clientele. They will also get a glimpse into the operations and customs of a hotel or resort, 
    which can expand their own ideas of the hospitality industry. Tourism internships will help interns build 
    skills in communication, flexibility, adaptability, and self-confidence, and learn about hotel management, 
    tourism, marketing, reception, event planning, tours, or conference management.
