PSYCHOLOGY IN EDUCATION (AN INTRODUCATION TO BASICS) - A HAND BOOK AUTHOR DR. S.SATHIYAGIRIRAJAN [ Former Professor of Education, DDE ; Former Director, UGC – Academic Staff College (Human Resources Development Centre) MADURAI KAMARAJ UNIVERSITY, MADURAI – 625 021 T.N. INDIA.] (i) FOREWORD This hand book is a modest attempt of the author to present Psychological foundations of Education. The essence of several standard books on Psychology in Education is distilled and presented covering a variety of topics. I have been a teacher educator for over three decades – facilitating sessions on themes related to Educational Psychology for B.Ed/ M.Ed / M.Phil students, research scholars, and Teacher participants in orientation programmes, Refresher Courses, seminars and workshops. This handbook is dedicated to them since they suggested a handbook on “Psychology in Education” be authored by me. I believe this handbook will be useful to teachers and parents or whosoever interested in Educational Psychology. The author’s ‘Tools of Research for studies in Education’ and ‘Teacher Education oriented materials’ may also be referred to as a supplementary exposure. Feedback is most welcome.
