Travel and Transportation Guide to FAU Boca Campus

       FAU Boca Campus is readily accessible from the three international airports below: 
       Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) – 24 miles away from FAU Boca campus 
       Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) – 27 miles away from FAU Boca campus 
       Miami International Airport (MIA) – 48 miles away from FAU Boca campus 
        
       Ground Transportation from the airports: 
       Tri-Rail + Palm Tran (Route 94)  
       Tri-Rail is a commuter train that links Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. This train connects 
       the City of Boca Raton with all three international airports. Fares vary and are dependent on how many 
       zones you have traveled. You can calculate your fare and check the train schedule from the

       website. 
       FAU Boca Campus is located near the Boca Raton Tri-Rail Station (680 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida 
       33431). There is now a shuttle that runs directly between the Boca Raton Tri-Rail station and FAU. The 
       shuttle runs every 20 minutes from 6:45 am - 9:00 pm and is a short 10-minute ride. Bus stop #1134 is 
       the stop for the FAU campus. Please visit the

                  Taxi Service 
                  Taxi cabs are available at all three airports. Cabs may accept up to five people for the fare stated on the 
                  meter. The fare varies based on the meter reading and the travel distance. They accept cash or credit

                  Rideshare App (Lyft or Uber) 
                  Rideshare apps are very commonly used in the U.S. Students can download the app and get a ride from 
                  a driver within minutes. Lyft and Uber can now pick up and drop off travel passengers at all three 
                  airports, Tri-Rail station, or many other locations. Visit the links below to learn more and to sign up for

                  Rental Cars 
                  International students may legally drive in Florida for 30 days with an unexpired, valid driver's license 
                  and international driver’s license issued from their home country. Car rental services are located at all

                  Driving to FAU Boca Campus 
                  FAU Boca campus is located off I-95, off the Glades Rd. Exit 45. 
                       •   Traveling South on I-95 (from PBI) 
                           Take Exit 45 from I-95 S and turn left at the light on Glades Road. Continuing driving east for 1 
                           mile on Glades Road and take a left on University Drive (which is the main FAU Entrance). 
                            
                       •   Traveling North on I-95 (From FLL or MIA)  
                           Take Exit 45 from I-95 N and yield right at the light on Glades Road. Continuing driving east for 1 
                           mile on Glades Road and take a left on University Drive (which is the main FAU Entrance).

       511 Traveler Information System - The Florida Department of Transportation provides real-time traffic 
       and travel information such as traffic including crashes, commuter travel times, congestion, lane 
       closures, severe weather, construction, and emergency evacuation. 
       It is unsafe and unwise to accept transportation offers from illegal ground transportation operators. 
       Students are advised to ignore offers of transportation from solicitors inside the terminal.
