FOUNDER
Dr. Mizuno, professor emeritus of the Tokyo
Institute of Technology, is credited with
initiating the quality function deployment
(QFD) system. The first application of QFD
was at Mitsubishi, Heavy Industries, Ltd., in
the Kobe Shipyard, Japan, in 1972
