PGC-Middle Objectives
As a result of participating in PGC-Middle, peer leaders and
their small groups of 6th graders will:
• Get to know each other better through activities and discussion
• Examine values, roles, and relationships and how they impact choices
• Learn how to solve problems more effectively and make healthy
decisions
• Develop the confidence and skills to be successful, personally and
academically
• Become more supportive and appreciative of others and more respectful
of differences
• Work together to enhance our school community
• Support each other in our efforts to achieve all of the above

Responsibilities of a Peer Leader

Year-Long Leadership Class
Through the year-long leadership class, you will develop
skills in several areas, including:
• Group facilitation
• Problem-solving
• Decision-making
• Communication
• Specific topic areas related to transitioning into Middle School

Overnight Peer Leader Retreat
All peer leaders must be able to participate in a Two-Day
Overnight Retreat, which will:
• Orient peer leaders to PGC-Middle
• Build teamwork and trust among the group
• Develop foundation skills needed to become a peer leader
