Purpose To produce high-impact emerging leaders for the world 2 GATL 9/1/22 The Problem • Desperate need for leaders for the 21st century from biblical worldview • Inadequate intentional development of new leaders 3 GATL 9/1/22 Brief History • Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI) was designed in 2007 to train the staff of Campus Crusade in Southern & Eastern Africa (SEA) • First Cohort 2008-2010 (for SEA) • Second cohort: 2010-2013 (SEA and West Africa) 4 • Third cohort: 2014-2016 (SEA and West Africa) • Most graduates are at national, continental and global leadership positions GATL 9/1/22 Description • Duration: a-two-year intentional and intensive transformational leadership training and coaching of carefully selected emerging leaders (25-35 years old) • Focus: character development, spiritual formation, and critical skills of personal and 5 organizational leadership, resource mobilization and leadership development • Structure: three modules of 10-day residential and one module of online GATL 9/1/22 GATL Philosophy • LEADERSHIP = STEWARDSHIP • Four areas of stewardship (each area is a six month process) • Self • Mission/Calling 6 • People • Resources GATL 9/1/22
