      Paragraph #1 will introduce the person you will write about.  Make 
      sure to include important information such as name, birth date, 
      birthplace, and relationship to you.  You also should include why 
      you chose to write about this person and why they are important to 
      you.  Transitional sentence:  should tell why they wanted to come to 
      the United States and/or California. 
      Paragraph #1
      Topic Sentence:      Introduction of person.
      Detail sentences      This part of your paragraph should give 
      (must be 3-4               details about the person you are writing.

                        relationship to you, why you chose them, 
                        what is special about them.
      Conclusion         write one concluding sentence about 
      (1 sentence)     choosing this person.
      Transitional      this sentence should tell why  this person

      they have to endure?  What did they have to do to get to their destination?  
      How did they get there?  Who came with them?  Describe in detail their 
      experiences; paint a picture of their journey. Transitional sentence: should tell 
      what was it like in their “new world”.
      Paragraph #2
      Topic Sentence:      Will introduce in one sentence what their 
                     journey to CA or US was like.
      Detail sentences      This part of your paragraph should give 
      (must be 3-4               details about the person had to endure
      sentences)                  what they had to go through to get  here,
                        who came with them, how did they get 
                        here?  Describe their experiences give .

      Conclusion         write one concluding sentence about 
      (1 sentence)     this person’s journey.

      the United States and/or California.  What has it been like?  How have they survived?  
      What did they have to do to get along with others?  What challenges or successes 
      have they encountered?  Conclusion: What can YOU learn about this person?
      Paragraph #3
      Topic Sentence:      Your topic sentence will introduce the 
          experience in CA or US .
      Detail sentences      This part of your paragraph should give 
      (must be 3-4               details about what it is like living in CA or 
      sentences)                  US.  Did they learn a new language?  Do 
             they go back to their country or state?
             Successes or challenges they’ve had.  Give
             details!
      Conclusion          write one concluding sentence about 
      (1 sentence)     what you learned about this person.
      Transitional     you do not need a transitional sentence
      Sentence                      unless you’re adding a 4th paragraph of        
          additional information you learned.

          If you have additional information that you learned about the person you researched 
      and/or interviewed, you may write an extra paragraph.  If you choose to write a fourth 
      paragraph change the conclusion to paragraph #4 and add a transitional sentence to 
      paragraph #3.

                     information you discovered.
