     Classroom Technology Upgrades
     Summer 2016
Moving Lectern & Labs PCs to Windows 10
New Projectors coming with higher resolution & bigger, brighter, clearer
         images
Projection compatibility with modern devices (native HD and widescreen
         format)
Touchscreen monitors will also be added to lecterns as instructor’s stations
         are replaced
Classroom VCRs are being removed from service
Evaluating opportunities in some rooms for wireless presentation – for BYOD
     High Definition Transition
     2016 - 2021
 Phased-in deployment over several years replacing 4:3 screens with 16:9
      dimensions
 Upgraded rooms will look brighter & crisper – especially fonts and detailed
      diagrams
      Deployment staged by building/floor
 Existing 4:3 presentations will look the same; no need to change anything
 Markstein Hall and SBSB this summer; ACD next summer
              33% 50%
             Larger Brighter
        Opportunities for Feedback
        Email Survey Coming Soon
 Most classrooms built since 2006 have offset
screens to maximize whiteboard space – older
        rooms were centered
 Looking for feedback on value in retrofitting older rooms
to offset the screens as they are replaced
 Standardizing on 8ft screen width minimum
 Looking for feedback on the importance of standardizing
screen height across similar sized classrooms
 Evaluating various wireless presentations tools
 Looking for faculty interested volunteering to test and
provide feedback on the value of evolving wireless
           presentation technologies in the classroom
