More Vocabulary Mean — The average of the data. To find: Take the sum of the data and divide by the number of terms in the set. More Vocabulary Median — The numeric middle of the data set. To find: 1. Put the numbers in order from least to greatest 2. Find the middle term. *If the set is an odd number of terms, the median will be a single number. If there are an even number of terms, you must find the mean of the middle two terms. More Vocabulary Mode – The measure occurring most frequently in a data set. To find: Look for the number in the set that repeats the most. If there is more than one, you can say all are the mode and the set is called “bimodal” Range – The difference between the highest & lowest value in the set. More Vocabulary Outlier — A number that has an extreme value when compare d to the rest of the data set.
