Measures of central tendency such as
     __________, ____________, ____________,
  and ____________________________ provide
information about where data is centered.
                More Vocabulary
Mean — The average of the data.
To find:  Take the sum of the data and divide
by the number of terms in the set.
                                                            More Vocabulary
Median — The numeric middle of the data set.
        To find:
            1. Put the numbers in order from least to greatest
        2. Find the middle term.
*If the set is an odd number of terms, the median will
        be a single number.
If there are an even number of terms, you must find the
mean of the middle two terms.
                More Vocabulary
Mode – The measure occurring most frequently in a
  data set.
  To find:
Look for the number in the set that repeats the
most.  If there is more than one, you can say all are
the mode and the set is called “bimodal”
Range – The difference between the highest & lowest
  value in the set.
                 More Vocabulary
 
  Outlier —
A number that has an extreme value when compare
d to the rest of the data set.
