Product Management responsibilities are both internal and external to the organization Strategic and Market Facing Internal Management and Facilitation • Set the product vision and road map • Be a leader in the organization – Work with CTO and President – Operate powerfully as a peer to Directors of – Determine market, technology, and competition trends Development, Sales, Marketing, Customer and directions Support, and Delivery Units – Understand client current and future needs – Participate actively in setting the tenor of the firm • Determine pricing, packaging, and placement – Develop compelling offerings with help of Sales, • Application Management Marketing, and Client Managers – Lead user conference planning – Run the configuration control board, making trade-offs among competing priorities • Set, lead, and drive market communications – Lead the consonance of Prod Development, – Craft messages and collateral Design, CTO, and Market Leads in trade-off – Drive evolution in images and graphics decision making • Engage client community as the “face” of the product • Product support – Lead User Group – Provide leadership to the support manager and – Be visible, known, and compelling to clients organization, including Level I and II – Evolve Support capabilities and competencies • Support Sales – Help drive opportunities and demos – Take a leader role in the most important proposals 2
