SDSU Microsite Program Overview Community college students can now earn a San Diego State University bachelor’s degree without having to set foot on an SDSU campus through a partnership with local community colleges. Many of today’s students have full-time or part-time jobs, families, and other commitments, which is why SDSU and its partners have created new programs to fit the unique educational needs of those students. Through around-the-clock access to SDSU’s online course offerings, and with additional SDSU student success services provided, students will attain a valuable degree from SDSU on their schedule. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded an SDSU degree which will be identical to the degree earned by face-to-face students. 2 SDSU Microsite Program SDSU Partner College • Online courses • Physical space (once COVID-19 • Student success services restrictions are lifted) • Advising • Tutoring sessions • Tutoring • Advising sessions • Additional services • Social services • Library access • Transfer advising • Career services • Recruitment/Marketing 3 Proposed Programs Potential launch in Fall 2022 BS in Criminal Justice • BS in Child Development • BA in Communication • BA in Economics • BS in Public Health • BS in Civil Engineering 4 How It Works Student Services at the SDSU Global Campus Student Center • Outreach & Nurturing – In conjunction with college counselors, work with students through their consideration phase through application. • Advising/Support • SDSU Admissions Advisors will work with Transfer Counselors to guide students through the admissions process and orientation. • SDSU Success Advisors will work with students from acceptance through graduation, offering academic advising, registration reminders and support, connecting with tutoring services, assisting with financial aid, and other SDSU services. • Student Engagement – SDSU Success Advisors will connect students with SDSU co- curricular support such as Career Services. 5 Miramar College Participation SDSU Asks Miramar to Provide: • Marketing & Recruitment – Promotion of the program to students.
