What is PLTW Biomedical Sciences?
A field where concepts of biology and medicine
are investigated within health conditions.
Course 1: Principles of Biomedical Sciences
(grade 10)
The course includes hands-on projects and
problems that relate to the death of Anna
Garcia. Students will determine the factors that
lead to her death and learn about lifestyle
choices and medical treatments that may have
prolonged her life.
Unit 1: The mystery
Unit 2: Diabetes
Unit 3: Sickle Cell Disease
Unit 4: Heart Disease
Unit 5: Infectious Disease
Unit 6: Post Mortem
Future career options: physician, dentist,
pharmacist, & other health care related careers.

better in Biology both semesters (PBS)
