Sheet 1: Calculation Options
| LAST RESORT FTE CALCULATOR | ||||||||
| OPTION #1 | ||||||||
| If you have the number of credit hours, use the Academic FTE Chart. (Open FTE tab.) | ||||||||
| (This chart is based on the information found at | ||||||||
| https://www.ohio.edu/provost/apaa/overloads.cfm.) | ||||||||
| OPTION #2 | ||||||||
| If you do not have the credit hours, determine the FTE by the amount of time or effort | ||||||||
| expected for the payment. | ||||||||
| Example: You are paying someone $2,500 to work on a project for the department. You plan to | ||||||||
| have them work 20 hours a week for a 10 week period (April 8 to June 14). | ||||||||
| Calculation: | 20 hours/40 hours in a week = .50 | |||||||
| 10 weeks work/17 weeks in a semester = .59 | ||||||||
| The FTE would be the .50 x .77 = .29 | ||||||||
| Change only the yellow boxes to calculate the FTE. | ||||||||
| 20 | \ | 40 | = | 0.5 | ||||
| Hours | Hrs per week | |||||||
| 10 | \ | 17 | = | 0.59 | ||||
| weeks worked | wks in semester | |||||||
| 0.5 | x | 0.59 | = | 0.29 | ||||
