Flexible travel and fares As you start using public transport again, our pay as you go fares and automatic price capping mean you can always travel flexibly Pay as you go Using your contactless bank card or device, or an Oyster card, to pay as you go is easy and flexible. Travelling with pay as you go means you only pay for the journeys you make, which is perfect if you commute flexibly. You don’t need to buy a Travelcard in advance - just touch in and out on each journey and you’ll always pay the correct fare. Using a contactless bank card or device also means that you don’t need to top up an Oyster card. Track your travel Keep track of your journeys by downloading our app or signing up for an online account. Download the TfL Oyster and contactless app or create an online account to view your journey and payment history, making it easy to claim expenses for work or request refunds. If circumstances prevent you from completing your journey, we’ll often automatically refund you within two days. You are also able to ask for a refund.
