Pressure Vessel UnitsDB Report List of Pressure Vessel Equipment, one row per unit. This format is used by BCSA to load data into BCSA's database.
Tab 4
Fields Definition Provides a description of the column headings in Tab 3 - Units DB Report ; where applicable a drop down box identifies choices to be used to populate the cell in the column .




General Instructions


Note 1 Column Colour Coding



Green Columns Green columns are mandatory information that must be provided


White Columns Optional ... Bulk loading can proceed without the field having a value.




Note 2 New registrations vs Updates to existing Registrations



New Registrations These are identified by a blank UnitNumber cell (the row is assumed to be a new unit)


Update a Registration If the UnitNumber is provided, the data in the spreadsheet will update the system data



Note that New Registrations and Updates can be included in the same spreadsheet.




Note 3 Spreadsheet Alterations (expert)







Columns Do not delete columns.
Inserting columns to the spreadsheet may cause errors in the data import. Please discuss requirements for other information with BCSA on a safe approach.


Adding Tabs You can add new spreadsheet tabs without affecting the bulk load capability.
Note 4 Boilers and Refrigration Equipment

Data Entry for New Equipment Registrations - New Customers






Step 1 BCSA Preparation



Account Number If there is no existing equipment registered BCSA will add the account #; if there is exisiting registered equipment the same account # should be used.




Step 2 Create new Equipment registrations using Pressure Vessel Units DB Report tab



Standard Fields


UnitNumber Leave blank (for new equipment registration)


UnitName Provide a Unit Name


crnnumber BCSA requires that all regulated equipment have a Canadian Registration Number.


serialnumber Provide the serial number of the equipment. This will help in identifying the unit in the customer's system.






Equipment-Specific Fields (Green columns are mandatory, White columns are optional)


Measurements Provide measurements in length and diameter.


Measurement Units Select appropriate measurement units from the dropdown list.
















Data Entry for Updates to Existing Equipment






Step 1 BCSA Preparation



Account Number Use the same account # as for registered units




Step 2 Change existing Equipment using Pressure Vessel Units DB Report tab



UnitNumber Leave as is (this should contain the existing Unit Number from BCSA)


UnitName Update the Unit Name if needed


Description Update the description from the dropdown list if desired


YearManufactured Update the year of manufacture if desired


Occupancy Update the occupancy type from the dropdown list if desired






Equipment-Specific Fields (Green columns are mandatory, White columns are optional)


Measurements Provide or update measurements if desired


Measurement Units Update appropriate measurement units from the dropdown list if desired












Report Processing






Step 1 Send Spreadsheet via Email to the designated BCSA contact



Data issues BCSA will contact you if issues or questions arise during the bulk loading process
Step 2 BCSA Response



Completion Report On completion of the upload and updates, BCSA will provide a report listing the results of uploading, and the new UnitNumber assignments.
