Inventory Control Register User instructions: For each item in stock: - Fill out the name of the item in column A. - Fill out the pack unit. This defines what you have to count every time you do a stock count. Insert this in column B. - Insert in column C the number of units currently in stock. - Calculate the average number of units used per day in your laboratory. As a certain amount of time has passed since introduction of the stock cards in phase 1, you can calculate how much of each item is used on average per day as users had to fill-out at which date which amount they took of each item. Adapt this when it appears to be too low or too high later on. Insert this in column D. - Determine the average numbers of days it takes before the order arrives at the laboratory after placing the order. Do this based on experience. Insert this in column F. - In column E the critical stock level is calculated automatically. This means that when the current stock count falls below the critical stock level, an order for new supplies must be placed directly to prevent a stock-out. - In column G it is indicated if an order is needed. If nothing is indicated no new order is needed, if "YES" is indicated a new order must be placed for that item. - Insert the name of the supplier, the name of the contact person, address, telephone, email, and website. - Insert the item specifications in column I. The specifications are all the data you need to know to get the correct item when placing a new order. Row 6 and 7 are example lines. This table is very basic and is just a first set-up of an inventory control system. Extend the table with more parameters if necessary.
