Implementing the Welsh Language Standards
Introduction
On 25 July 2016, the Welsh Language Commissioner presented the Equality and
Human Rights Commission (EHRC) with:
Compliance Notice – Section 44 Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011
This notice:
sets out, or refers to, one or
more standards specified by
the Welsh Ministers under
section 26(1), and
requires a body (the EHRC in
this instance) to meet those
standards.
The compliance notice remains in force unless, and until, it is revoked. Our
Welsh language scheme no longer applied from 25 January 2017 – the day on
which we were required to comply with the Welsh Language Standards for the
first time.
This document sets out how we will implement those standards.
1. Presentation and communication
All presentation and communication will not treat the Welsh language less
favourably than the English, including correspondence, corporate identity and
signage.
