                                     Electro Optical Components Awards 18 Scholarships 
                                                                                                      
                        Electro Optical Components is proud to announce the winners of the 6th annual Victor Yen Memorial 
                        Technical Scholarship for excellence in academics in the sciences for the 2017 - 18 school year.  The 10 
                        winners from Sonoma State University and 8 winners from Santa Rosa Junior College have excelled 
                        academically and philanthropically.

                        Victor Yen if he were alive today would be honored by these winners.  He too was an excellent student 
                        who received a BS degree from the University of Redlands and received a MS in Aeronautical 
                        Engineering from California Institute of Technology.  He taught Engineering at Tri-State College in 
                        Indiana and later worked in industry at Ford Motor Company, OCLI, Optoelctronics and Cal Sensors 
                        before founding Electro Optical Components in 1997.  He was a pioneer in the Infrared Filter and 
                        Detector industry.
