What is scholarship? (or what is scholarly work?)
There are many definitions of scholarship, but most would agree that it would include elements of the
following: The activity or work …
                               • requires a high level of expertise
                               • breaks new ground or is innovative
                               • can be replicated or elaborated
                               • can be documented or disseminated
                               • can be peer reviewed
                               • has significance or impact
                                          (Diamond & Adam 1993)

                     Submission Guidelines:
Abstracts will be reviewed and accepted by a selection committee. All abstracts should include the

                  Why consider submitting a poster?
Presenting posters at conferences is an important way for people to share and disseminate their
scholarly work with other colleagues at a local, national and international level. It is great way to get
ideas out there. Since these activities are peer-reviewed, it is also considered an objective standard by
which to measure one’s productivity as a scholar and academic.

Why a poster session at North York General?
We know there is vast amount of high quality education at North York General. To make this work you
