ASSESSMENT 4: VIDEO DIARY
THE TASK:
For this project you are to create an individual video diary, focusing on the production of your Live TV Show
(Assessment 3). You can think of it as a ‘Making of’ style video diary where you follow the process from the
initial brainstorming sessions through to your completed product.
The length of your video diary is 8‐10 minutes for Tertiary students and 6‐8 minutes for Accredited
students. During the development of your Live TV Show you will shoot behind‐the‐scenes footage that you
can use for your video diary. This footage should aim to capture the main developmental points (e.g.
brainstorming, scriptwriting, rehearsal, production). Each person in your group will have access to the
footage taken during the development process, but the focus must be on your individual experience. You
must individually present or narrate your video diary.
The diary should be edited in an interesting way, combining footage of you discussing the project as well as
behind the scenes footage at relevant places. Consider the use of titles and how these can lead the viewer
through your diary.
PRESENTATION:
Your completed work must be submitted on a DVD containing:
Full High Definition (HD) version of your Video Diary (1920 x 1080 25p)
Standard Definition (SD) version of your Video Diary, playable on a standard DVD player (967 x 544
25p)
Remember that if you’ve forgotten how to do something, there are cheat sheets and tutorials on the main
media page of the cLc for most media processes.
