Fundamentals of Web Development Course Code:20CSM101 L T P C 3 1 0 4 Course Outcomes: At the end of the Course the student shall be able to CO1: Explain different Web technologies.(L2) CO2: Build UI Designs using web elements (L3) CO3: IUnderstand basic concepts of CSS.(L2) CO4: Design the Style sheets for websites(L3) CO5: Make use of JavaScript in client-side validation.(L3) UNIT-I 10 Lectures Introduction: Internet vs Web, Web Servers, Webpage Addresses (URL’s) The Anatomy of webpage; Introduction to Web technologies, HTML5 and its Essentials, New Features of HTML5. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the module the student will be able to 1. compare Internet and Web (L2) 2. classify different web technologies. (L2) 3. summarize the features of HTML5 (L2) UNIT-II 10 Lectures Fundamentals of HTML, Working with Text, organizing text in HTML, Working with Links and URLs, Creating Tables, Working with Images, Working with Forms, Interactive Elements. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the module the student will be able to 1. build static web pages (L3) 2. make use of form elements in web designing. (L3) UNIT-III 10 Lectures CSS for Presentation: Introduction to CSS, CSS Basics, Style Inclusion Methods, CSS Measurements, CSS Strings and Keywords, CSS Color Values, CSS Selectors. CSS1 and CSS2.1 Properties: Background Properties, Text properties, Font properties, CSS lists, CSS tables. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the module the student will be able to 1. apply Cascading style sheets to web pages. (L3) 2. choose appropriate CSS for the website. (L3) UNIT-IV 10 Lectures CSS Box Model: Borders & Outline, Margin & Padding, Height & Width, CSS Dimensions, CSS Display, CSS Positioning, CSS layers with Z-index, CSS Floats Learning Outcomes: At the end of the module the student will be able to 1. build flexible & versatile style sheets for websites. (L3) 2. make use of CSS box model. (L3) UNIT-V 10 Lectures JavaScript: Introduction to JavaScript, JavaScript Functions, Events, JavaScript objects, Browser Objects, Document Object, Document Object Model (DOM), Validation using Regular Expressions. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the module the student will be able to 1. identify popular JavaScript Libraries. (L3) 2. make use of regular expressions for form validation.
