AD Sensor Fusion/ ESP SW Design Tasks Job description: About our team: We build best in class software for Autonomous driving functions for Mercedes Benz passenger cars. We are a team of talented engineers working in a global network to develop the next generation of Driver Assistance features used in all Mercedes Benz cars sold globally. Our team works on ego motion functions for Level 2, Level 3 Autonomous vehicles. Role: Senior SW Engineer/SW Engineer About the role: You will be part of the team, which is responsible for the development and validation of ego motion module that provides vehicle motion states, which is used by the Level 2 and Level 3 ADAS features. You will be working closely with other software function developers, evaluating the function performance during vehicle test drives, making code improvements for software quality assurance, implementing unit and requirement-based tests. Key responsibilities for the role: - Strong Algorithm development and SW realization experience in embedded C/C++ language. - Review software requirements from testability perspective and prepare software test specifications. - Understand the function design; evaluate the function performance through vehicle test measurements. - Implement unit tests to match software changes. - Perform code changes, refactoring if necessary, to meet Quality assurance guidelines (MISRA, MB hand code guidelines, Astree, other static code analysis tools). - Implement software bug-fixes, feature enhancements when necessary. - Perform effective root cause analysis for problems reported during vehicle testing. Basic Qualification: - Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electronics and Communication/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Embedded systems/Computer Science/ Automotive Electronics or equivalent degree - 2-8 years of overall experience in Automotive domain Abilities: Skills and knowledge: - Must have good knowledge in C, C++, data structures - Must have knowledge of Vehicle dynamics. - Experience in writing software test specifications - Hands-on experience in analyzing legacy implementations and refactoring code - Strong knowledge in digital filters , probability theory, and tracking methods (e.g. Kalman filter) - Good understanding of the SW build environment and build process – compilation, linking, etc. - Exposure to configuration management tools like GIT and requirement management tools, e.g. DOORS, DNG - Hands-on experience in working with code analysis tools, e.g. Polyspace/Astree, QAC - Experience in python scripting is an advantage - Experience in the automotive industry, especially in ADAS domain. Qualifications Personal capabilities: - Ability to work in a team environment using agile methods - Strong logical thinking , analytical skills and debugging skills - Ability to communicate and discuss ideas effectively - verbally and through presentations - Willingness to participate in business travels and test drives - Deep interest in vehicle dynamic concepts and application.
