                                    b          The controller drives the plant, whose disturbed output drives the sensor(s).  The 
                                    .         resulting feedback signal is subtracted from the reference input to produce an error 
                                             signal e(t), which, in turn, drives the controller.  The feedback loop is thereby closed.
