       Strengthening Coastal and Marine Climate Resilience through Upland 
      and Coastal Ecosystem-Based Adaptation and Community Engagement 
              March 2020 – March 2023
     The Inter-American Institute for Corporation on Agriculture (IICA) is Project
     Executing Agency for the above captioned project through the Caribbean
     Biodiversity Fund (CBF) financed under the EbA Facility. The Project is funded
     under the CBF-EbA Facility which is supported by the Government of Germany
     through the German Development Bank (KfW) with resources from the
     International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Ministry of the Environment,
     Nature Conservationand NuclearSafety.
                                                          in collaboration with 
    EbAProject Intervention Strategy  
    1. Raise awareness and build community capacity for rehabilitating and maintaining healthy land 
      and marine environments, recognising and mitigating climate change risks through design and 
      implementation of EbA& CSS approaches, introduction of land management tools and climate 
      smart agriculture, through in-classroom and in-field training and establishment of 
      demonstration plots for vetiver systems and climate-resilient interventions. 
    2. Promote and facilitate nature-based livelihood opportunities, based on the vetiver grass, by 
      supporting the establishment of vetiver propagation nurseries and developing and launching 
      and training of vetiver-based green businesses in each project country in vetiver art and 
      handicraft. 
    2. Disseminate information and share knowledge to influence behavioural change and 
      mainstream EbAand CSS in policy and practices, through events/campaigns, publications 
      (online & print), online communication and social media platforms and video production (short 
      and feature documentary).
