                 The third wave of the Child Development Supplement (CDS) to the Panel Study of Income 
                 Dynamics was made possible by the generous funding of the National Institute of Child Health and 
                 Human Development and the Economic Research Service of the United States Department of 
                 Agriculture.  The CDS project is based at the Survey Research Center, Institute for Social Research 
                 at the University of Michigan.  Frank Stafford is the Principal Investigator.  Jacquelynne Eccles, 
                 Robert Schoeni, Narayan Sastry and Katherine McGonagle are Co-Principal Investigators of the 
                 CDS.   Eva Leissou had primary responsibility for all aspects of data collection of the CDS-III in 
                 collaboration with Sara Freeland.  Jay Schlegel was responsible for data processing activities.  Noura 
                 Insolera led development of codebooks and the User Guide.  Special thanks go to Pamela Davis-
                 Kean, Mary Dascola, April Beaule, Tecla Loup, Ofelia Purkayastha, Dennis Kloska, Barbara 
                 Browne, Angela Pok, and Kathryn Snider of the Survey Research Center at the Institute for Social
