                             Assistant Professor - Monogastric Nutritionist

        Position Description: The Department of Animal Science at Oklahoma State University, is seeking applicants for an  
        11-month, tenure-track position (65% Teaching and 35% Research) in the fields of monogastric nutrition and metabolism.  
        This position carries the expectation for excellence in teaching, advising, and research productivity commensurate with the 
        land grant mission of Oklahoma State University.  Candidates are sought to provide aggressive leadership in the development 
        and implementation of a nationally recognized teaching and research program. Teaching responsibilities include instruction in 
        undergraduate courses that cover the basic and applied aspects of comparative livestock and companion animal nutrition, as 
        well as management and graduate courses in the new hire’s area of expertise.  In addition, the individual in this position will 
        be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program and contribute to the existing research 
        strengths of the department.  Opportunities for independent and collaborative research include, but are not limited to nutrition, 
        comparative or gastrointestinal physiology, microbiota and animal health, growth and metabolism, or any other relevant and 
        fundable topics in domestic animal species (pigs, poultry, or other monogastric animal models).  It is expected that the new 
        hire will seek and secure extramural funding in support of a multidisciplinary research program in collaboration with other 
        faculty in the Department, the Division, and the University.  
         
        Qualifications: Requirements include a Ph.D. in animal science or a closely related field with an emphasis in nutrition or 
        comparative physiology. An understanding of basic and applied aspects of nutrition in domesticated species is imperative for 
        success in the position and essential for our teaching program.  Applicants must be committed to both teaching and research 
        excellence.  Preference will be given to individuals with excellent written and oral communications skills, excellent 
        interpersonal skills, evidence of teaching and research success, a passion for teaching both undergraduate and graduate 
        students, successful grant writing and the ability to work in teams and assume leadership roles.   
         
        Academic Rank:  Assistant Professor 
         
        Salary:  Competitive and commensurate with education, training and experience
