Publication of the Journal as to Statutory Requirements
THE ZAMBIA INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY JOURNAL is the official journal of industrial property for the Zambia Patent Office. The authority for its periodic publication is
derived from Section 14 of the Patents Act; Section 14 of the Industrial Designs Act; and Section 80 of the Trade Marks Act.
Publication of the Journal as to WIPO Standards
The Journal is published, as far as feasible, in conformity to World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Standards ST 3, 5, 9 - 11, 17 - 20, 60 and 80 and other
supporting Standards issued by WIPO for publication of or for presentation of Industrial property (IP) bibliographic data in official lP gazettes. Upgrading of the Journal
to the Standards is a standing routine. All codes used in the Journal are explained in the section Key to Codes Used in the Journal.
CLOSING TIME FOR ACCEPTANCE OF COPY
Where to send "Copy" intended for Publication
All proofs intended for publication in the Journal (accompanying appropriate payment properly addressed, see modes of paying for advertisement below under
'Conditions for Advertising') must be forwarded to the Registrar & CEO at either address shown in 'Miscellany' below.
Closing Time for Receipt of "Copy"
Closing time for the receipt by the Registrar & CEO of any 'copy' is 15:30 hours on the last working day of the month immediately preceding the publication date of the
issue in which publication is intended. Any 'copy' received thereafter will be held over for publication in the following issue.
ADVERTISEMENT AND SUBSCRIPTION RATES
Advertisement Rates
Advertisements for publication of acceptance proof for a single insertion is K500.00. Advertisements for publication in two or more consecutive issues is K500.00 for
the first insertion and K400.00 for every subsequent insertion made in consecutive issues.
All errata advertisements are subject to these charges which are payable, however, only if the mistake necessitating the re-advertisement is the advertiser's shall the
re-advertisement be without charge.
Subscription Rates
The Journal costs K100.00 per copy and the basic annual subscription (i.e. January to December) is K1, 200.00 if the copies are collected from the Intellectual
Property Office (IPO) without a need for posting. For annual subscriptions to addresses outside Zambia, add to the basic cost another K20.00 annual postage for each
copy ordered. For local addresses add K10.00 per copy. Subscriptions (see modes of payment below) must be sent in advance to the Registrar & CEO at the IPO.
CONDITIONS FOR ADVERTISING
Authorisation for Advertisement
No advertisement will be accepted for publication in the Journal unless it has been approved, and it actually carries proof of such authorisation, by the Registrar &
CEO, as the case may be, for publication.
Responsibility for consequence of Advertisement
Neither the Government of the Republic of Zambia nor the Registrar & CEO, accepts any responsibility for cases arising from errors or omissions in any advertisement
and neither does the Government nor the Registrar, guarantee the accuracy of any particular publication in the journal.
Modes of Paying for Subscription Advertisement
All payments for subscription, purchase of single copies and for advertising in the Journal must be made to the Registrar & CEO at the IPO and may be so made by
cash, cheques, bank drafts, postal orders or money orders. These forms of payment, other than cash, must be crossed and made payable to the 'Zambia Patent and
Trade Marks Journal Account.'
Proofs for Label/Device Marks to be Accompanied by an Exact Representation
Every proof submitted for publication of a label/device trade mark must be accompanied by a specimen representation of the label/device trade mark corresponding, in
all material respects, to the representation submitted previously to the IPO on the relevant type of application. Any label/device trade mark proof not accompanied by
this specimen or accompanied by a bad photocopy of this specimen will not be accepted for publication.
MISCELLANY
Address of Enquiry or of Correspondence
All-enquiry or correspondence concerning all matters on patents, trade marks, industrial designs and any other aspect of industrial property in Zambia, or matters
about purchase of or subscription to the Journal or about anything published or intended to be published in the Journal should be presented either in person, to the IP
Dept, 1st Floor North Wing, PACRA House, Plot No. 8471, Haile Selassie Avenue, Longacres, Lusaka or by post to the Registrar & CEO, Zambia Intellectual Property
Office, P.O. Box 32020, Lusaka, (10101), Zambia.
