                 Learning Content                                  Competencies that will be achieved by students

                                                                        digestive  systems  and  processes  of 
                                                                        animals. 
                                                                    2.  Understand  and  explain  the  types, 
                                                                        benefits,   functions,    symptoms  of 
                                                                        deficiency     of    food      substances 
                                                                        (proximate  analysis  and  van  soest), 
                                                                        basic  metabolism  of  food  substances 
                                                                        including  protein,  carbohydrates,  fats, 
                                                                        vitamins, and minerals. 
                                                                    3.  Understand  and  explain  the  types  of 
                                                                        nutrient   sources  of  forage,  feed 
                                                                        additives, and anti-nutrition, as well as 
                                                                        evaluate the quality of feed ingredients 
                                                                        physically, chemically, and biologically. 
                                                                    4.  Understand the basics of animal feed 
                                                                        formulation
