Photo Opportunity Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign Raises over $35,000 for Nutrition for Learning Community support has never tasted so good! Cambridge, Ontario – Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign was a sweet success with over $35,000 being raised for the Nutrition for Learning. Over 35,000 of the special chocolate chunk cookies were sold between September 21-27 at Tim Hortons locations across the Cambridge area. A special cheque will be presented to Nutrition for Learning this October 20, 2009 at 12:30 at Tim Hortons located at 350 Hespeler Road, Cambridge, Ontario. “I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped to make this year’s campaign such an overwhelming success,” said Dwayne & Cheryl McGlinchey, Tim Hortons Store Owners. “Raising awareness for the Nutrition for Learning through the Smile Cookie campaign opens the door to more community involvement and ensures that the funds raised in our community stays in our community. I think that’s something we can all smile about!” Nutrition for Learning has been a registered charitable organization since 1997. Our mission is to enhance a student’s ability to learn by ensuring that each child and youth goes to school well nourished. Nutrition for Learning currently supports 105 community based breakfast, morning meal and lunch programs impacting over 9,500 children daily. Approximately 450 dedicated volunteers coordinate student nutrition programs in elementary and secondary schools throughout Waterloo Region. Each “Smile Cookie” sold for $1 (tax excluded) with the proceeds going towards Nutrition for Learning. Nutrition for Learning has been a registered charitable organization since 1997.
