Learn or improve your Spanish skills this summer! UNMC is continuing its trademark intensive Medical Spanish/Global Health courses with several three-week virtual offerings available during summer 2022. These courses feature: One-on-one Spanish instruction, tailored to the participant’s level of Spanish (determined by an initial placement test) 90 classroom hours of instruction over the three-week period: six hours per day, five days per week Two one-hour medical/health-related lectures per week Zoom format Classes taught by linguistics instructors from UNMC’s partner institution, Universidad Anáhuac Veracruz (UAV) in Xalapa, Mexico Summer 2022 course dates: June 6 – 24 June 27 – July 15 July 18 – August 5 Course costs: $150 program fee (payable to UNMC) $1,835 course tuition (payable directly to UAV) Additional information: Course size limited to five students per session Optional post-course volunteer week with the Omaha LatinX population (pending) This course is jointly sponsored by the UNMC’s Pediatric Global Health Program and the Office of Global Engagement (OGE) in collaboration with UAV-Xalapa Testimonials from previous UNMC participants available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ITP1RefApE&t=9s Please direct course questions to Sara Pirtle, OGE Program Manager; sepirtle@unmc.edu; 402-669-7876
