                       Mahmoud Gaafar is an Arabic speaker, a crafter of words and a 
                         great cartoonist! Jane Wightwick is a UK graduate of Arabic who 
                          consolidated her knowledge by spending many years in the  
                           Middle East. 
                            Jane realised through her personal and teaching experience 
                            that there was a lack of good, communicative, carefully-paced 
                            material for the early stages of learning Arabic. This led to the 
                             original edition of Mastering Arabic in 1990. 
                             Following the success of the original edition, and by 
                            popular demand, Jane and Mahmoud developed the series
