Jason M. Patlis
The author, Jason M. Patlis, is an expert in natural resource law and governance.
He has worked on natural resource issues in Indonesia since 2000, originally as a
Fulbright Senior Scholar. Prior to that, he served for almost 10 years with the U.S.
government, including from 1997-2000 as Majority Counsel for the Committee on
Environment and Natural Resources of the U.S. Senate.
He currently works as Senior Legal Advisor for the USAID-funded Coastal Resources
Management Project, where he directs the project's legal reform program in
working with regional and national agencies and stakeholders to improve the legal
and institutional structures for coastal and natural resource management.
