Application 1. Requirements n One Semester n One Year Length of Study EWU does not request an official language proficiency score, but students Language Requirements should be able to take courses in either English or Korean. All students are required to have a GPA of over 2.5/4.0 GPA (= 75 % academic grade) 2. Application Procedure Step 1. Create an account at the online application site for Exchange or Visiting students at: http://eureka.ewha.ac.kr/eureka/hs/hs/sd/businessLogin.do?category=A All applications should be submitted online, and no paper applications will be accepted. Step 2. Submit application and upload all documents and materials needed for the application. Step 3. Receive email notification of approval. Step 4. Receive the admission packet sent out via express mail. Step 5. Send checklist and Overseas Health Insurance Certificate. Step 6. Come to Ewha! 4. Application Materials Applying students are to submit the following documents and materials during the online application process. Please be informed that all documents must be prepared in either English or Korean and must be in JPG or PDF format. • Face photograph. Photographs should be in 3 cm x 4 cm size, scanned and saved in a JPG format. • Official Academic Transcript. Transcripts should be scanned and saved in a JPG or PDF format. A transcript which states the total GPA score for the whole study period needs to be submitted. If the home institution does not have a GPA system, a signed official letter from the international office guaranteeing that the applicant’s academic achievement is over 75% needs to be submitted with the official academic transcript. • Health & Medical Clearance Form. This form is mandatory for those applying for on-campus housing, and is downloadable at the online application site. Upon completion by a doctor, this form should be scanned and saved in a JPG or PDF format. • Passport copy. Please copy the first page which has your name and passport number. This should also be scanned and saved in a JPG or PDF format. • Statement of Purpose. This should be typed directly on the online application, and is limited to 1,000 letters. The Statement of Purpose may be written in Korean or English. • Overseas Health Insurance Certificate. This will be additionally requested upon students’ receipt of the admission packet. III. Tuition & Fees After receiving admission from the Office of International Affairs, students will be given an invoice at the orientation held before the start of the semester. The invoice will include the tuition fee and other mandatory or optional fees for each individual student, to be paid within one week from the start of the semester. All fees should be paid at the on-campus bank (ShinHan Bank), or through wire transfer. No personal checks or credit cards will be accepted. Mandatory Fees Application Fee (non-refundable) 60,000 KRW (waived for exchange students) Tuition (per semester) App. 4,000,000 KRW (waived for exchange students) On-campus Health Center Fee 20,000 KRW (per semester, non-refundable) Total App. 4,080,000 KRW Optional Fees Housing Administration Fee(non-refundable) 60,000 KRW Single Room: App. 1,800,000~2,700,000 KRW Dormitory Housing (per semester) Double Room: App. 1,230,000~1,600,000 KRW * All costs above are subject to change without prior notice. ** Fees will be charged based on Korean currency (KRW-Korean Won). 2. Other Information Single or Double rooms are available on campus. Dorm applications can be done at :http://eureka.ewha.ac.kr/eureka/hs/hs/sd/businessLogin.do?category=A along with the application. On-campus housing is not fully guaranteed, and will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis. The cost for the dormitories have not been fixed and may be increased.
